Quamby Golf and Country Club

1145 Westwood Road Hagley Australia

Description:

Quamby Golf and Country Club offers a challenging golf course near Hagley in northern Tasmania. The course is a delight and suitable for players of all skill levels. It is a breathlessly beautiful parkland nine-hole course. Its meticulously groomed fairways, tees and greens are adorned by English ash, elms, hornbeams, ancient oaks, massive poplars, cypresses and cottonwoods. There are nine lakes, rocky cascades, creeks and three ‘Scottish’ bunkers. These fastidiously shaped and maintained bunkers are pure white from specially filtered and refined Scottsdale sands – a major feature of this course. Moving twice around this nine-hole, 6,847 metre course, commands a par 76. At 576 metres, the eighth hole is the longest par five in Tasmania. Each hole has four tees, providing alternate strategies for the second or subsequent rounds. Quamby is an all season course. In autumn and winter the setting sun offers an extraordinary golden, russet and green playing environment offset by the stunning all-white bunkers and lengthening shadows of Quamby’s impressive trees. Electrically-operated carts are available and all golfing equipment may be hired. Prices supplied upon request. Caddies are also available and refreshments may be purchased in the clubhouse. Quamby is just 20 minutes drive from Launceston.
