Adelaide Farmers' Market Showground

Description:

The Adelaide Showground Farmers' Market is South Australia's largest farmers' market. The weekly Sunday morning market has around 90 stallholders and attracts up to 6,000 shoppers each week. It was recognised as the nation’s best farmers’ market by the 2016 delicious. Produce Awards and by the Australian Traveller magazine in 2015. The Adelaide Showground Famers’ Market is a vibrant place where farmers and producers representing every region of South Australia bring seasonal produce and locally made food products to sell direct to the public in inner-city Adelaide. It offers more than just a market - it provides an experience for consumers to meet and connect with the growers and producers and buy delicious fresh fruit and vegetables and other great local products. The market is held weekly on Sundays from 9am to 1pm (except for 2 Sundays during the annual Adelaide Show in late Aug/early Sept) at the Adelaide Showground. The Adelaide Farmers' Markets offer South Australian fresh, seasonal and value-added products direct to the consumer - the food at the market is produced by the people who sell it. This opportunity to purchase from the person who produces the food is what makes a farmers' market so special.
