The Willows

322 Callaghan Road Anglers Rest Australia

Description:

The Willows is an off the grid, remote high country getaway in the Bundarrah Valley, Anglers Rest. Located halfway between the country towns of Mitta Mitta and Omeo, surrounded by mountains, Alpine National Park and three rivers - the Cobungra, Bundarrah and Mita Mitta. For the active, there is adventurous horse riding into the surrounding wilderness, seasonal white water rafting and wild trout fly fishing. For the less active, drives up onto the Bogong High Plains, the Mitta Mitta pub, Omeo or the Blue Duck Inn can also include short walks and dining. The Willows, overlooking the Bundarrah river and paddocks of kangaroos and horses, provides a variety of comfortable, rustic self-contained accommodation. No curtains so stars can be seen at night. Rooms are comfortable without that clinical look and heaps of pumped up pillows. And no neighbours. The main guesthouse has five upstairs bedrooms, one downstairs, two bathrooms, a downstairs dining / kitchen area with wood fire, and outdoor campfire barbecue area. Two authentic Australian bush huts are down on the river flats. The Cattleman's log hut, built around 1900 and the Iron Hut, of the 1940's. Both have a comfotable rustic style - think glamping.
