Prairie Hotel

Cnr West Tce & High St Parachilna Australia

Description:

The Prairie Hotel is where the Flinders Ranges meets the Outback, in Parachilna, South Australia. A family owned and run hotel, and licensed since 1876, it is a jewel of the region, a perfect base for exploring the Flinders Ranges and Outback, and acknowledged as one of the Hip Hotels of the World. Accommodation is in four refurbished Heritage rooms, and eight architecturally designed, in ground executive and deluxe hotel rooms. The five self contained Fettlers' Cabins exude Prairie style, and the Prairie Overflow provides air-conditioned accommodation with shared bathroom facilities. Locals and visitors, famous and infamous, congregate in the hotel to savour the feral and not-so-feral food for which the hotel is renowned. At the Prairie you can enjoy local hospitality, the Art Gallery or just hang out. Whether it is tours of the area or flights with Fargher Air Safaris to Lake Eyre and beyond, it all starts from the front door of the hotel. Relax with a Fargher Lager, a FMG (Feral Mixed Grill), and a Parachilna sunset from the front verandah - you never know who you will meet at the Prairie! The Prairie Hotel is 90 kilometres north of Hawker in the Flinders Ranges region.
