Kennett River has a safe and pristine beach and is well known to the local surfers for the fun and reliable point break, just a short walk across the Great Ocean Road. Native animals are not shy around Kennett River. It is a great place to see koalas, native birds including king parrots, rosellas and kookaburras, as well as dolphins, seals and even whales. Grey River Road runs behind the Park and is a popular koala spotting area, it also leads you up to the temperate rain forest where you can see the colony of Glow Worms by night. Well established trees provide shelter for the resident koalas and campers from the cool winds in the winter and provide shade in the warmer summer months.
