The Reserve is a nature refuge and protects over 2000 hectares of Savanna woodland, including 350 acres of regionally important wetlands. Income from sustainable tourism is reinvested in the Reserve to manage and research its exceptional biodiversity, such as the breeding and reintroduction program for the critically endangered Gouldian Finch.
