Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm
Lot 70 Cape Leveque Road Broome Australia
Description:
Celebrating 70 years of pearling in 2016, this small family owned pearl farm 200 kilometres north of Broome has undergone a remarkable transformation from a hard-working community of pearlers to a unique accommodation, restaurant and touring option for visitors to the Kimberley. Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm is situated on the famous Cape Leveque Road, 15 kilometres from Kooljaman at Cape Leveque and 50 nautical miles from the Horizontal Waterfalls. Eight en suite safari style tents are nestled in remnant rainforest or set with views across the mangroves to the bay. Three self-contained rustic Pearlers Shacks, basic mini-safari tents and private caravan- and camp-sites with power and water are also available for guests. The licensed restaurant has al fresco seating and a dining room overlooking the water. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner during the dry season, dishes featuring pearl meat are particularly popular - in this case the rare delicacy is harvested just 100 metres from the restaurant! Alongside the restaurant, the swimming pool is perfect for a refreshing dip. Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm is accessible by road or air from Broome; self-drive and scenic flight packages are available.
