Avoca-on-Darling Hospitality is a heritage listed homestead complex, which was the Head Station of one of the original sheep and cattle stations in Far South Western New South Wales. By the turn of the century 'Avoca Station' covered 1,100 square miles. Although it is located on the edge of the outback it is only 20 minutes from historic Wentworth, 30 tourist attractions, supermarket, service station, hotels, shops and services. Avoca-on-Darling Hospitality is one of the Darling's best kept secrets, offering dinner bed and breakfast or self-contained accommodation in the historic buildings constructed in the 1870s of stone and pine logs. The large rooms and high ceilings are characteristic of the period. During winter wood fires burn brightly and in summer the wide verandas provide shade and views across the lawns sloping down to the shady river gums and cool deep river. Extensive gardens, jacaranda and peppercorn trees and tennis court surround the homestead complex beyond which stand original out-buildings and the fruit and vegetable garden .
