Redwater Creek Railway

Cnr Spring Street and Main Street Sheffield Australia

Description:

Redwater Creek Steam and Heritage Society operates steam train rides on the first full weekend of every month at the Sheffield Steam and Heritage Centre in Sheffield . Experience rail travel from yesteryear from the original restored Sheffield railway station. A restored Krauss steam loco pulling rebuilt heritage carriages runs every half hour from 1100 until 1600 on Saturday and Sunday. While there you can also take a look at our machinery, there is usually someone to take you through the shed and answer questions. In 2017 we have a new attraction - our Miniature Railway will give you something else for the kids to do - and you too, you can both ride. On the Sundays we're open, the Model Railway is open too - take the kids to watch the little trains go around the lovely layout the model club members have created. Redwater Creek Railway's Coffee Shop has a Tasmanian Barrel wood heater keeping everyone nice and cosy in the winter. You can order a hot chocolate or freshly brewed coffee , take it on the train with you, or sit for awhile in our cafe to drink it and have a chat.
