Calderwood Valley is Wollongong's superb public golfing facility. Modelled on executive style Unites States courses, it has something for every type of golfer. The challenging par 70 layout was designed by golf course architects McKay and Sons and each of the 18 holes has its own stunning features, combining clear creeks and beautiful scenery. The rugged Illawarra escarpment serves as a backdrop. The course is open from dawn till dark every day of the year. Bookings are required for the weekends, and recommended for Fridays. The clubhouse has food and beverages, club and buggy hire, and pro shop equipment. Groups should take advantage of the large covered gazebo and picnic area.
